Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.
There's a reason why fairy tales and fantasies are appealing. They make life seem so easy! You wave a magic wand, and Voilà! It's taken care of, fixed, healed, completed. Except... those are fantasies. Life requires our participation... not the participation of a magic wand or a fairy godmother. We need to take action. We need to take charge. We need to stand up for our own selves.
While that may seem difficult, it is actually empowering. When we have to wait for someone to rescue us, as in Prince Charming, or the return of Jesus, we are powerless... as we have to wait for something or someone to rescue us. While there is magic in the world and in life, we are the ones who hold the magic wand, or the director's baton. It cannot be done for us by anyone else... just by our own selves. The fact that the solution (or salvation) is in our hands is empowering. We don't have to wait for rescue. We can rescue ourselves (with a little help from our friends, at times).
Thus at InnerSelf, we strive to bring you articles that empower you to reach your full potential and to shine as the bright star that you are. Each one of you (each one of us) already have all the answers. We simply need to attune ourselves to them and put them into practice. And when we fall (or fail), just wipe our knees off, take care of our wounds, and pick ourselves up and keep going until we reach the finish line.
This week our authors acknowledge the powerful person that you are, and offer their support, through their written words, on your life's journey.
